Blurry Items Primary Image [bug?]

No matter the size, the primary item image is completely blurry. I can't even use the item feature like this.

Tested with png, jpeg, various resolutions.

example:

One thing is that these images are automatically rendered as 300px, but that's no reason to be crazy blurry.

Ideas?

This should be fixed now — item pages are using a higher resolution image. Thanks for the suggestion, Filip!

Cool. Thanks Kyle. I actually disabled the whole concept from my site until now because of the bug... Time to get back into part listing!

Hi.

After a round of testing, I still can't get it to work! I have tried all possible imaginable combinations of export out of Illustrator (all combinations involving jpeg, png, resolutions from 500 to 5000 px, and PPI from 72 to 300) , and it all comes out blurry. No clue.

Can I turn on support for vector files somewhere? Svg? That would clearly solve the issue...

Hi Filip,

What device are you using to take these images? We can research and test this further if you can share more information about your tools and process.

Thanks!

Thanks @amanda . Here, I uploaded an example of the original file generated from Adobe Illustrator. It's a small png with high resolution. http://i.imgur.com/eYznLnK.png

PS: Of course when resized to 300px, the image would by default look like the lines are thin; but it should not make it blurry necessarily.

You're right, this is a bug. I've filed it in our system. We've got some higher priority projects to finish up first, but we'll fix it. Rest assured, this is only an issue with the image display on that page, not with the underlying image.

Happy to know I'm not crazy ;-) Looking forward to the fix. (I have simply hidden all parts and tools from my guides with CSS in the meantime.)
