When a user views a guide after a while, such as an operator logging in for regular re-training, changes to the guide appear on the page itself without the user having to open the guide History.
Change Aware
Change Aware provides a list of edited steps at the beginning of the guide, with links for easy navigation.
For guides with Change Aware enabled, edited steps are highlighted in reference view.
Edits Since Last Viewed
When a user views a newly-updated guide for the first time, a modal appears with a list of changes that the user must acknowledge to proceed to the guide content. It features a list of changes, with the following details:
- Version #
- Date and Time
- Author of change
- Change Differences
- Click the links on the Change Differences to open up more detailed information in a new tab.
Important Reminders
- The edits since last viewed modal and Change Aware highlights will only appear to a user on their first time accessing that version of that page. Publishing a new version of the guide will reset both the OGDC and highlights, causing them to appear again when relevant.
- Deleted steps are not highlighted in the guide itself, but appear in the "Changes Since Last Viewed" modal as Step(s) deleted.
- Reordering steps will not track as a change for either Change Aware or the modal; users will have to view the guide History.
